On this machiavellian episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down Podcast, Tom and Matt have a chatter about even more curiosities picked up from Essen! First up is Power Vacuum - a diplomatic trick-taker where you play as fascist toasters - followed by Beyond The Horizon, a reimagining of 2020’s Beyond The Sun. Finally, a little beachfront chat about Seaside - a game that’s got Matt’s favourite component of all: “A Bag”
I know a lot of Daves, and many of them have been on my podcast. With that in mind they're helping me celebrate a new holiday, Davecember, when each of them joins for me a mini-episode sprinkled randomly this month into your feed. I'll ask each of them similar questions, and each David also gets a bit of time to bring up something they want to share with my listeners. Enjoy!
Ambie and Crystal discuss a couple games they played recently, including Adrift: A Puzzletale, Exit: The Game - Advent Calendar: The Missing Hollywood Star, and Stich für Stich. Then, we interview Sara Beth Way and talk to her about board gaming in the younger generation and the game she's designing! Find Sara Beth on her YouTube channel.
As we approach the end of 2024, it's about time we stop, take stock, and dare I say look back at the year that's been. The highs, the lows, the mids - all the stars are here, and we're going to break them down for you with some of our favourite games, and biggest moments, and general assessment of the year that's been. Before we reflect, we talk about Let's Go! To Japan, Mombasa, and The Gang. 01:52 - Let's Go! Episode 323: Awkward Guests, The Light in the Mist.
On this week’s Episode, Dan and Dana have to take the reins at short notice while Adrian is recuperating. Dan has been trying to get rid of all his ‘midden’ as a Scottish Farmer in Skara Brae, only to find he is perhaps better suited to being Captain Obvious or a super sleuth in Awkward Guests. Meanwhile, Dana has been mulling over whether her daughter’s fear of electrocution has trumped her love of Brie in My Favourite Things. This of course comes a distant second to a good-looking tarot deck with a twist in The Light in the Mist.
There's also the Question of the Pod, Swear an Oath, and all of the usual shenanigans you've come to expect from the Board Game BBQ Podcast.
