Lifeboats: Plank of Carneades

Lifeboats is a 1993 game. That's more than 30 years old! I am pretty sure I have heard about it before. The version I recently played is a 2024 remake. This is a negotiation game for up to 7 players. This is the kind of game which I would cheekily say can destroy friendships, and I wouldn't be lying. Be prepared for hurt feelings.  There is a disaster at sea. The ship is sinking, and

VNTYPL8S Game Review

When I was younger, somewhere between five and eight years old, my family took a few road trips that I still have fond memories of. The era in which these trips took place, the early ‘90s, is worth noting as it’s part of what made these trips memorable.

Before cell phones, tablets, and portable gaming systems were widely available, long road trips were often a struggle to answer the question “How can I entertain/distract myself for X hours?” Surprisingly, my family found a variety of answers, including a “game” involving license plates.

You are all miners mining gold, contributing to a stash of gold, one nugget at a time. Sooner or later someone will be tempted to steal from the stash. However such thieves can be caught by miners who decide to play guard. So these are the

This Game is Killer: Frozen Horror

During the lifetime of a game taster, once in a while we stumble upon unheard of games which take us by surprise. This Game is Killer: Frozen Horror is one such game for me. It is not a ground-breaking genre nor is it a highly unusual setting. It is just how well the game is put together in a concise way, plus some genius ideas thrown in.  First and foremost, this is a
