Steve Finn, founder of Dr. Finn’s Games, discusses how to design set collection games. Steve has designed a ton of games with this mechanism including Biblios, Herbaceous, and Sunset over Water, so he has a lot to say on the topic.

This Game is Broken is a comedy board game panel show with Matthew Jude, Dave Luza, Paula Deming, Nick Murphy and Mike Murphy. We play a lot of nonsense games full of role playing and trivia as well as other fun stuff which can be found at the links below.

In this episode, Tom and Eric are joined by former host Sam Healey to discuss CoraQuest, Nidavellir, and Kingdom Death Monster. We catch up with Sam, Geoff revisits our gaming table future, and we finish the show with a look back 10 years to our Top Ten Games of 2012.
It's a star-studded eleganza extravaganza, featuring your two least-favourite SVWAG hosts giving you an incomplete capsule summary of a terrible year of great games. Of course, they neglected to play That One Game, of course, which means that all their observations are utterly useless, but how does that differentiate this episode from any other? This offering is more classy, however, as in a concession to the glitz and glamour of end-of-year shows, both hosts begrudgingly and uncharacteristically wear pants. (You might be asking--is that "pants" in the British sense or the Canadian sense? The answer is yes.)

Episode 173: Special Guest - Tom Vasel! Plus Horrified, Black Sonata, Ark Nova, and Bristol 1350 Nova
On this special episode Steve, Mike and Dan are joined by the man in the hat, Tom Vasel. He shares some stories from his early days of reviewing games, his experiences from the other side of the industry, and he answers an assortment of questions from our Patreons.
In our Sizzling Games segment Steve revisits the horrors of Horrified, Dan has been on the search for the Dark Lady in Black Sonata, Tom is still raving about the incredible Ark Nova, and Mike has been dodging the plague in Bristol 1350.
We launch the next match-up in the Bracket Battle 2.0: Teotihuacan vs Everdell. It's Steve vs Mike and they plead their case as to why their game is better (and Tom and Dan pile on as well!). To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials.
Finally in Swear an Oath, Steve is continuing to play every game in his collection, Mike has been playing Mystic Vale and is already intent on getting the expansion, and Dan played MicroMacro with his family of budding detectives. New oaths include a game of Teotihuacan with 5 expansions (Steve), The Prodigals (Mike), Radlands (Dan), and even Tom gets in on the Oath-swearing action.

In this panoramic episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast, Matt and Tom are back in action, ready to talk about a little heap of cardboard that’s been growing in the corner over the festive break; it grows a little every time you look away, and we’re hiring someone to take care of it.
On this podcast you can hear about the ever-rolling Dice Realms, the ever-sinking Atlantis Rising (2nd Edition) and the ever-expensive Q.E. A bunch of games that we’re keen on, but not… that keen on. Wahoo!
And we're back! The holiday extravaganza is over, and it's back to business as usual around here. And what better way to get back into the swing of things than with some h-h-hot questions! Scott Smith, designer of Dungeon Drop, discusses how to design games by starting with the components. Scott has become a master at this, and it’s an interesting way to approach design that often begins with theme or a mechanism.
Eric joins Suzanne and Mandi as they discuss Awkwright The Card Game, What The Heck, Quacks expansion The Alchemists, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Orange Juice expansion for Bullet <3, and Berried Treasure. The pie of the show is full of games we haven't played in more than 5 years, but really want to.
