#171 - The Great Wall o' Wise Guys

18. Februar 2022 um 20:00

In this vaguely threatening episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down Podcast, Tom and Matt are chatting about a ‘whole buncha guys’! Some of them are on, in, and around a big ‘ol wall in Awaken Realms’ The Great Wall; and others are skulking around the streets of Chicago in Gale Force 9’s Wise Guys! We’re also having a brief chat about all the spoilers that Matt unearthed in The Initiative - so plug up your ears at the end if you want to make sure you remain unspoiled.

Have a lovely weekend, folks!

#201: Having Fun While Losing

Von: Pickaxe
15. Februar 2022 um 12:00
It is a strange thing for one's hobby to be utterly infused with a nominally competitive structure. I would venture to say that knitters, for instance, devote precious little thought as to whether they can knit more or less well than their fellow crafters. Perhaps it is different for scrapbookers, I don't know, they seem like a ruthless lot.

15. Februar 2022 um 01:22

New intro music - who dis?

Like a house with a fresh lick of paint we are back with a new intro and a new vibe. On this episode Jules, Adrian and Dan breakdown the week that was, including the massively successful Brisbane Game Day, a new Pandemic Legacy Season One spoilercast over on our Patreon channel, Oceania Month coming up in March, and we get involved in supporting the BarbeCURE Charity which raises awareness for Cure Cancer. The team also discuss the games they've been playing, including Frostpunk on PC, Land vs Sea, Teotihuacan, Mazescape, 18Chesapeake, and A Feast For Odin.

In the Board Game Bracket we settle the last match-up, Clank! vs Anachrony, before Adrian and Dan square off in our next battle: Pandemic Legacy Season One vs Cartographers. To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials.

Finally, in Swear An Oath Jules is still working on painting his Nemesis: Lockdown figures, Dan hasn't started the Under Falling Skies campaign yet  (but did complete the first case in Detective after revisiting it), and Adrian is still struggling to wrap his head around Hadrian's Wall. New oaths include the Targi (Dan), playing his fully painted version of Cosmic Frog (Jules), and making a start on his Kingdom Death Monster minis - with a little help from his friends (Adrian).

Sizzling Games: Teotihuacan: City of Gods (36:15), Mazescape (40:40), 18Chesapeake (46:26)

11. Februar 2022 um 12:54

In this arid 170th episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast Tom, Ava, and Quinns are chatting about a bunch of games featuring HOSTILE ENVIRONMENTS. It’s like the Shut Up & Sit Down Annual Company Retreat after Quinns threw a War Sun at Ava. We’ll never be the same again.

In this podcast, the gang are saving tigers in Endangered and planting gardens in Ishtar; before settling down to a nice bit of post-apocalyptic bickering in Radlands. Enjoy!

Have a lovely weekend, folks!
