In this special episode, we interview the man, the myth, the legend - Jamey Stegmaier. Jamey of course designed Viticulture, Euphoria, Scythe, Charterstone, and Tapestry, and is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of Stonemaier Games.
Ahead of the release of Stonemaier's new game Pendulum, Jamey was kind enough to take time out from his busy schedule to talk about his early experiences in the industry, his feelings about Kickstarter, and finding his place in the hobby. Jamey even weighs in with his Sizzling Game and his view on our upcoming match-up in the Board Game Bracket. And of course, there was no way Steve was going to let the opportunity pass to talk about Scythe!
In episode 62 Jamie welcomes Honorary Founders Rodney Smith of Watch It Played and Marty Connell of Rolling Dice and Taking Names to bring back play the This or That Game! We talk about conventions, gaming awards, Project Winter and in the game, we go into movies, board games, miniatures games and more.
Join us as Mike leads us through a host of board game buffoonery.

“The game which our enemies have laid before us is, in so far as the French dictated it, is a monument of pathological fear and pathological hatred; and in so far as the Anglo-Saxons dictated it, it is the work of a capitalistic policy of the most brutal and cleverest kind.” –A deliberate misquote of Count von Brockdorff-Rantzau reviewing Versailles 1919

It's a full house, baby! In this episode of the podcast Ava and Quinns discuss FIVE games, each and every one of which they are IMPRESSED BY. Has that ever happened on the podcast before? We're not going back to check. That could take *minutes*.
Quinns can offer some early impressions of Pandemic Legacy: Season 0 (04:15), Ava's been dueling a stranger in Innovation (19:36) (and you can read Ava's splendid roundup of Chudyk's games here), there's a lovely drawing game called Geometric Art (34:12), a revisit of Spirit Island (41:12) and we close the show with some impressions of the hot new card game Spicy (57:35).
Something a little different in this episode, as Adrian takes the lead and puts the BBQ through their paces with a Board Game Trivia battle.
Whose side are you on? Team Party or Team Solo?
In this epic battle, the formidable opponents show that they have filled their heads with far too much unimportant gaming stuff to actually keep any intelligence.

Even if the price is right, it might not be right for you. We all have different thresholds where a board game we're interested in crosses from, "maybe I'll wait for a sale" into "sure why not" territory, but where is that magical line? Has what we're willing to pay for games changed over time? Before we get sticker shock, we talk about Twin Tin Bots, Ticket to Ride: New York, Whale Riders, and Dead Reckoning.
